The Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre recently hosted a film crew from a joint Channel 5/National Geographic production.
John Nichol, well known author and retired RAF Tornado crew member, is presenting the documentary telling the story of 617 Squadron's numerous wartime operations after the Dambuster's raid of May 1943.
Participating in the filming at East Kirkby were Benny Goodman (Pilot), Colin Cole (Wireless Operator), John Bell (Bomb Aimer) and David Fellowes (Gunner). As part of the filming process the veterans climbed aboard Just Jane for a taxy run. All were veterans serving with 617 Sqn, apart from David Fellowes who served with 460 Sqn RAAF. The documentary should be on our TV screens early 2014.
With gorgeous light for photography, I'll make no apologies for the quantity of Lancaster pictures!
