The 2010 American Air Day was blessed with excellent weather and warm sunshine.

An annual event commemorating both the wartime United States Army Air Force in the United Kingdom and their post war Dakota operations from East Kirkby, the American Air Day hosted P-51D Mustangs Marinell (G-MRLL) & Janie (G-MSTG), who treated the gathered crowds to a series of flypasts with resident Dakota Drag 'em oot.

The P-51s also superbly displayed as a duo, with their whistling Packard V-1650 engines (a two-stage two-speed supercharged version of the legendary Rolls-Royce Merlin engine) sounding distinctly different to the Merlin 24's on Just Jane.
